Everyone Eats!

NBC News recently visited Brattleboro, VT to spotlight the city’s Everyone Eats! program which pays local restaurants to prepare meals to feed 850 people per day. The program is modeled on ShiftMeals, a project developed by Clean Yield investment The Skinny Pancake. The idea behind ShiftMeals was to keep grant and federal COVID response dollars local by paying local restaurants to prepare meals using locally sourced food to feed Vermonters in need. One of the food service providers participating in Everyone Eats! – Mamma Sezz – is a portfolio company of the Flexible Capital Fund (also a Clean Yield investment). Everyone Eats! will be rolled out statewide in Vermont with $4 million to pay local restaurants to prepare 400,000 meals for distribution by social service agencies through the end of 2020.
