We can help you find suitable “high-social-impact” community investments, such as a loan to a regional revolving fund for affordable housing.

We may occasionally suggest a private partnership or equity investment for your consideration. These can have high financial and social returns, but they are often quite risky and could result in a complete loss. You participate in all aspects of the investment process, so you thoroughly understand the tradeoffs before taking a financial position.

You vote your own shares in the companies in your portfolio. We’ll alert you to key stockholder proposals so that you can influence corporate management through the power of proxy voting .

You can challenge companies through shareholder resolutions. We’ll facilitate the process by helping you develop the written proposal, handling the requisite correspondence, and ensuring that your resolution is presented at the company’s annual meeting. We’ll also work with allied organizations so that others co-file the resolution for maximum impact.

We work for legislative change alongside allies in the social investment movement. Through active membership in such coalitions as the Social Investment Forum and the Interfaith Center for Corporate Responsibility, we help advance corporate transparency and other progressive issues at the national level.
